I just received this discounted quote today from PTC, and this will give you a better idea on what to expect. This includes Fatigue Advisor, which you may or may not want.
View ArticleRe: Full Blown Simulate
Nice discount!Honestly, I think I will stick with my SolidWorks premium license that has EVERYTHING that my Creo license has with regard to static analysis MINUS the very STUPID limit of 200 surfaces...
View ArticleRe: Does Simulate take this "Miscellaneous Properties" into account?
No. I don't see how it could. This parameter is only used by the Sheetmetal module (or whatever it's called these days?)
View ArticleRe: Uprising of a rail on the ground, only on one side
You could use contact with some very stiff part that represents the ground. If the problem is symmetric, use constraints to halve your model size. Alternatively, use the same trick as in the document....

Which SolidWorks Simulation package do you have? StandardPremiumProfessional

Ruben Alejandro Villarreal Barrios wrote: Excellent question, The answer is no.What was the question? (You make it sound like "No, Von Mises stress can never be higher than Max Principal stress" which...

Oh but Charles Simpson point was exactly my point, Quoting him "It is possible to have zero Von Mises stress when the principal stresses are equal (hydrostatic). I can't see how it is possible for Von...

Surface properties can reduce dramatically fatigue strength. Just saying..
View ArticleRe: Von Mise stress higher than Max Principal Stress?
I was referring to this bit: Svm=sqrt(0.5*[ (S1-S2)^2+(S2-S3)^2+(S3-S1)^2]) if s1=s2=s3 (regardless of sign) Svm=0 if s1=1, s2=-1, s3=-1 (your example) then Svm=2

Hi guys Do not hesitate to vote for my enhancement request Legend levels, define in definition windowErik
View ArticleRe: Does Simulate take this "Miscellaneous Properties" into account?
This is accounted for, to some extent, in the fatigue properties, under the "structural tab" where you can change the surface finish. This affects the S-N curve that Fatigue Advisor generates. You can...

Holy !!!! I thought this issue was only in Simulate Lite...but you guys, driving the MacDaddy, $150,000 Ferrari of Simulation software have this ridiculous thing to deal with too?
View ArticleRe: Creo Simulate (Mechanica) Results - Persistent Legend Values Option
No, no we're not driving second hand Ferrari's , a new one costs more than 150k here
View ArticleRe: Von Mise stress higher than Max Principal Stress?
When PTC switched from Independent Mechanica to Integrated Mode, the developers removed the capability to check for continuity across element edges and implemented averaging techniques. I submitted a...

I really like the way SolidWorks places their Simulation products in a comparison matrix (attached link), as you can expand each topic in the left-hand column for more details....
View ArticleRe: Von Mise stress higher than Max Principal Stress?
Oh come on now Dean, this is just some 2nd order equations. It's not like we're trying to solve the Reynolds equation?
View ArticleRe: Von Mise stress higher than Max Principal Stress?
We do not did that, because Creo does not have the Computational Fluid Dynamics tool. Otherwise... What a terrible disadvantage of this software isn't?
