Re: FEM on rubber disk

I am not sure if it comply with the design of your assembly, but I would have added a pressure load on the entire bottom surface of the disc and also constrained displacement of the top of the outer...

Non linear or linear setup in fastener simulation in creo?

As assigning fastener connections to the assembly, creo simulate creates contact surfaces in between two surfaces. My question is whether I should check the "Nonlinear/ Use load histories" box or not?...

Boundary Condition on Internal Surface?

I have several scenarios where the end of a flat bar is in contact with the flat side of a plate of steel.  There is a convection boundary condition on the side of the plate of steel and on the sides...

About Redundancies and DOF

a simple caseIf i have a gear and a a ground body.the gear rotates through a motor.thenDOF=6M-N-Oin this case M is the bodies except ground which is 1N is the total number of contraints imposed by...

Re: How to measure torque, when applying force on a leaver arm?

Salam BilalI am also doing such a project but that is 4 dof.in CREO if you want to run a successful dynamic analysis you should have to remove all the redundancies first to get accurate dynamic result...

Elastoplastic Material with Assembly Contact

This  PTC article https://www.ptc.com/appserver/cs/view/solution.jsp?n=CS66550 claims to allow: Ability to include plasticity, hyper-elasticity and contact effects in the same analysis This seems to...

Re: Pro/M optimisation: "invalid model or geometry"

I've got another one: over 3.5 hours to reach iteration 5, on an assembly that runs a static analysis in two minutes. Call C11549838 opened and model uploaded.

Re: About Redundancies and DOF

David, The driver 'controls' the rotation, (the DOF you have in your mind). Because it is driven, it is not a DOF. Regards Charles

Re: About Redundancies and DOF

thanks Charles if i rotate the gear with a torque then DOF will be 1 but if  i rotate the gear as mentioned with a motor the DOF will be 0.Could you explain it a little further?

Re: About Redundancies and DOF

Servo motors directly control the DOF of the joint axis you apply it to, so that DOF is taken away and rendered "fixed", or "prescribed". Any single force or torque does not control the absolute motion...

Re: About Redundancies and DOF

yup. Distinguish between force and servo motors. A force motor : a torque will rotate the gear about it's axis DOF, the rotation can be influenced by other forces/inertia of the gear. A servo motor :...

How about creating a surface on a plane using the edges then measure the area of the surface.

Re: Calculating Flow Area in a valve

Thanks for your comment, I have basically been doing just as you suggested. When I have simple geometry I have no problem with that as I open the valve plate. The big problem I have is when the profile...

Re: Bonded contact analysis

In my opinion, when you have to do a contact analysis, one way to have a good control on the interfaces is setting the analysis generally free, and set all interfaces between parts after.This...
