Re: Symmetry constraint question...

A mirror symmetry in structural will just be ignored in thermal.  A "mirror" in thermal assumes no heat flux (insulated) through the mirror plane, which is already the default by doing nothing to the...

Re: Symmetry constraint question...

So when you say 'the default be doing nothing to the surface', are you saying that there is no need to apply a symmetry constraint to the mirrored surfaces? I guess because creo is solving for heat...

Re: Symmetry constraint question...

Yep, that's how I understand it.  My reference books say the same thing.

Re: Symmetry constraint question...

Mirror symmetry is not supported in Thermal mode....only cyclic symmetry can be utilized.....for your application, for a quarter size, cyclic symmetry can be applied.....and it has to be applied in...

Cylinder analysis in CREO 2.0

Hello All I want to simulate a cylinder head(A) and base(B) assembly unit to check the structural integrity under working loads. I Am new to CREO. HEad unit (Part A) is threaded into base unit (Part...

Re: The Most Worthless Error Message

No that's not hte most useless error message, this one is more useless: An engine disk write error has occurred, probably due toinsufficient disk space or directory/file permissions. Mainly becuase the...

Re: Cylinder analysis in CREO 2.0

Hi Vinay, If you're not concerned about the stresses in the threads, you could just apply a pressure distribution in the lower cavity using a 2D axisymmetric analysis while capping off the top of...

Re: Cylinder analysis in CREO 2.0

HEllo Steve   THanks for your reply.I am Not concerned about the stress in threads.  HOwever what is happening is the internal pressure in part B causes deformation radially thereby loosing the thread...

Re: Cylinder analysis in CREO 2.0

In that case, it appears you would have to split the model down the axis of rotation and create a 2D model with threads in contact.

Re: Cylinder analysis in CREO 2.0

Steve   THanks for your reply. I Will try modeling the threads with contact.

Re: Datum Point in creo simulate and creo parametric

It shouldn't matter, but keep in mind that you can't pattern or mirror datum points on the simulate side.

Re: Datum Point in creo simulate and creo parametric

If you need a datum point to affect the mesh (whether created in Creo or Simulate), don't forget to make it a 'hard point' using Autogem controls otherwise it is  ignored.
