Re: Weld Suppression?

Charles, When I run the model with both the contact and weld unsuppressed, I get a warning that informs me that the they have become suppressed, though the results show something different. Upon...

Re: Weld Suppression?

Steven, The contact is is between two surfaces have a perimeter weld around the border.(I apologize for the terrible picture.)

Re: Weld Suppression?

John, end, spot, perimeter and weld features are shells only. Shells can be in 3-d assemblies. Welds do not work with solids You need another method. Create a surface region on the side of your doubler...

Re: Weld Suppression?

Hi John,Have you tried adding a surface region to both parts that your are assigning the contact region too to set the boundary for the weld penetration? Thanks,Don Anderson

Re: COMPOSITE MATERIAL, LAYER PROPERTIES and ORIENTATION

Hello Mr Brown, Thank you for your answer. Yes, I defined a mixed shell with solid... because is what I saw in this post:  Re: Creating a part with multiple material layers (Mats Lindqvist) I explain...

Re: Non-symmetric results for symmetric model and load?

Ok, I have to admit I don't know what I'm seeing at when I look at your graphs.  If you could explain it a bit - what analysis are you running?  What is the curve arc length graph showing? It seems you...

Re: Non-symmetric results for symmetric model and load?

It's not clear to me how this shows that the geometric definition given to Simulate is incorrect; can you flesh this out for me? It's also very alarming that the solver shows a solution quantity such...

Re: Non-symmetric results for symmetric model and load?

Hi Paul,You are right, geometry description is wrong, not AutoGEM.Other comparison that show the issue.Model with mesh. Model Version1: Feature Revolve Model Version2: Boundary Blend with option...

Re: Non-symmetric results for symmetric model and load?

Shaun, what Paul is showing is correlation between number of parts used to build the cone and number of arcs shown in the displacement graphs. This supports what I mentioned in my post on the 4th of...

Re: Non-symmetric results for symmetric model and load?

I still don't get how you can say the root problem is that the geometry sent to Simulate (before analysis) is wrong. But all figures shown in this discussion showcase an uneven displacement of a...

Constraints for a roller to follow a curved path in a cylinder.

Hi all, I'm trying to simulate a mechanism on Creo Parametrics where a roller has to follow a slot cut through on a cylinder surface as shown in the Image below. The shaft connected with the roller has...

Re: Constraints for a roller to follow a curved path in a cylinder.

Make a datum curve reference and put a point in the handle part that correlates to the curve. In other words, you can make the handle follow a "curve" using constraints.Your curve would likely be the...
