Re: Constraints for a roller to follow a curved path in a cylinder.

The roller is supported on the slot in the cylinder. Could I find out the forces acting on the roller when I make this kind of an arrangement?

Help with constraining rollers on cylindrical surface

Hi Guys, I’m having huge problems with constraining this assembly…The force is applied to the end of the crane via a long shank eye bolt, and the bottom of the crane is fixed in position.  The first...

Re: Help with constraining rollers on cylindrical surface

Are you using a contact interface between the rollers and the upright cylinder? Where is the area of interst in terms of looking at stresses? Do you need to use contact on teh rollers or would some...

Re: Help with constraining rollers on cylindrical surface

Hi Greg,  Thanks for your reply. I am relatively new to CREO so I had to quickly search this up but when you say ‘contact interface’ do you mean just defining the constraints of the parts prior to...

Re: How can I change the unit of measure in the Linearized Stress report?

Marco, I think you would have to change the units to (mmNs) in the units manager before running the analysis in order to get MPa in the stress results window.

Re: How can I change the unit of measure in the Linearized Stress report?

Marco, It looks like there may be bug in the code when trying to plot the stress report using mm-N-s.  The points won't activate for selection prior to making the report.  There are two reports below,...

I submitted a tech support case on this and furnished the model to PTC and here.  FYI.

Re: Is it possible to calculate a plate of glass support on the four corners?

Hi Denis, Are you asking is it possible to calculate a plate of glass that is "supported" on the four corners of the plate of glass without using the glass frame under a 1g load?

Re: Help with constraining rollers on cylindrical surface

Hi Sam, I think you may need to review all your 'interfaces' between the parts, and possibly simplify your model for analysis. AFAIK, assembly constraints have no effect in Simulate - all they do is...

Re: Running Simulation on a assembly with complex geometry

Try meshing the part by itself. Try exporting the part and then re-importing it. Check your accuracy.
